Is it hot in Beijing? How do you get around? By subway or taxi? How’s the training? Did you have more chance to practice your Chinese?
Yes, it’s hot, but I’ve already gotten a bit used to it. Shenzhen will be even hotter though. We mostly walk around (from the hotel to class); it’s about a mile and a half for a round trip. I’ve been on a bus once and in a taxi a couple times with some friends; tonight I’ll try the subway to see one of Uncle Oen’s friends here near the 2nd ring road. The training is going alright.
I was trying to figure out how to call you just earlier, but I’m having some trouble with my phone card (I have a China Mobile SIM card and I only have the country code for China Telecom; perhaps Telecom’s would work with Mobile’s because Mobile split from Telecom some years ago but whatever I will figure this out later). It’s my lunch break again though and I have to run to try to get my laundry done on campus so I will explain more later.
