Yeah I’m dragging my feet on blog updates…Hong Kong was very fun and interesting; I spent most of my time with William, Kim and Aidan, though I also trekked across the Island and ventured onto the Kowloon side a bit by myself for a day, taking full advantage of the awesome Hong Kong MTR subway system. I even ran into some other CTLC teachers while crossing a random Kowloon street – seems that everyone enjoyed their Midautumn Harvest Festival holiday week.

I certainly have a lot of impressions about it, but for once I’m going to keep those in my idea notebook. I’m going to see if “saving” those impressions for my private fiction writing makes writing that damn stuff any easier.

To tide you faithful readers over and entertain you a bit, I have two offerings:

1) I’m slowly adding some of my best papers and essays to the “Piecemeal Papers and Projects” page. More of my miscellaneous endeavors and projects will make their way there eventually. I realized the other day that I basically have my own publishing outlet in the form of this blog, so I may as well use it. Those essays may start showing up in the normal blog posts for streamlining purposes, but you can access them conveniently from the Piecemeal page.

2) I went to the gym on Gongye Ba street today and signed up for a membership. The guy pointed to a chart on the desk and asked me if I liked to dance. “Eh?” I said. (In Hong Kong I mostly spoke English, so these last two days have been fun getting re-used to Chinese again – although it actually hasn’t been as difficult an adjustment as I thought it would be, hooray). He handed me the same chart on a small piece of paper. “You can go home and look this up,” he smiled. I did. Here is my translation of the activities that I could partake in:

    形体 refers to Shaping.

  • Jenny

International Latin refers to dances such as the Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, and Jive. This is why you need ballroom dancing friends! And yes… it is popular:)

  • Na

    Do they have Tai-Chi?

If you’re interested in practising Tai-Chi, you can join the practicers in Si Hai Park every morning.

I’ve been to HK for more than a week on August. I spent several days in shopping haha. Due to nearly all the clothes were on sale, I bought a great deal of clothes for my family, my friends and myself. And when I back home, I had my luggage as 3 times as what I had brought to…=#
