(Is anybody old enough to remember MS-DOS? The command prompt OS that existed before Windows? When doing a report on Microsoft once in grade school I read that Bill Gates actually bought the code for MS-DOS from the guy who wrote it, who had instead called it QDOS. That was literally short [...] The writing project is going very well, even though I still haven’t actually gotten around to bashing any of it out. It takes an hour to get to Chinese classes in Futian using the combination of Bus 72 and Line 1 of the Shenzhen Metro, and I use the time to sit there and [...] I was sitting on the bus and quietly gazing out the window. Because it makes a stop practically twice a minute, the 72 takes a half hour just to get to the subway station, but I trust that other salaryworkers riding with me have found the most efficient way to get there. Still, [...] Besides musing on the distasteful news of my brother’s university enjoying a fluke football win against my alma mater that happened while I was unconscious (which, I contend, should somehow diminish its significance), I hadn’t planned on doing much today. Yesterday had already been eventful enough: with Carolyn I went to the gargantuan Book [...] I know that this is something I could be yelled at for, but I’m still having some difficulty finding food on weekends. The school cafeteria closes and I haven’t yet found enough kitchen utensils to be able to cook for myself (I need a bucket to put dirty dishes in…and then I suppose I [...] My love affair with taxi cabs has ended, because I think I left my wallet in one last night. Coming back from Ikea, Kami, Hunter and I jammed into a taxi cab with all our Ikea stuff (mostly Hunter’s). While juggling everything in the backseat and getting out my wallet to pay, I must have [...] Bear with the ugly thing up top; I’m still trying to tweak it in Wordpress.
