I have a bunch of papers and projects that were lying around gathering dust; I figured they might as well be out on this site gathering me up some fame instead. Or infamy. One of the two.
Critical Theory and Literary Papers
Once upon a time I studied literary criticism in USC’s undergraduate Comparative Literature department. Here are some results to show for it.
- ZOMG Cant: The Vernacular of the Internet Age: Commonly known as Andrew’s “lolcat paper.”
- The Global Pharmaceutical Industry: An investigative research paper that admittedly fudged the boundaries of literary criticism. Still, it won departmental honors and was a semifinalist in a university-wide writer’s conference for research papers.
- Viral Panic: The Paranoid Style in Microbiological Discourse: A short essay that merges microbiology with critical theory, becoming a finalist in that same writer’s conference. Accompanied by a video piece.
Videowork
A long, long time ago I also used to do a lot of video editing. Many of my amateurish montage videos set to music are up on YouTube for everyone’s reminiscing pleasure (or shame), but copyright claims on the music that many of them play against have muted them. Eventually I will try to post them here.
